I just wanted to say hi to everyone out there.  I'm a noob to autocross, although I've done a couple races in my brother's E30 out in LA.  I discovered that I'm gonna have much more time in Vegas than I thought, so I decided it's time to dive into something I've wanted to do for a long time.  I wish I could have made it out the races today but unfortunately I had to work early.  I just received my scca membership and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the next event in January.  I have a E36 BMW that is stock at the moment, with aspirations to go to STX after I get some much needed time behind the wheel.   Is there any other Bimmer's out there or some good competition in DS?

Welcome Nicholas. There are usually a couple BMW's out there. You can check the results from the events this year to get an idea. I may be out in my 550i in January since my car won't be ready for that event.

i used to have an e30, but now have a mini cooper s that will be moving into DS next year.  DS or DSP are great classes for the e36.  my e30 went crazy and found its way into FP.  when i did run in DS there were only a few of us.  when i moved into DSP, i think i was the only one there.

DS will have a few of us running.  Brian, Rob, my wife Diana and myself.

Welcome!

We had a couple of new fella out at our last event in M3's.
One stock, the other supercharged Shocked
Utah folks come down form time to time with BMWs...
BMW's are not uncomon at all, and generally do very well in whatever class they're in.
You'll fit right in.
Mostly though I don't think folk at our events care WHAT you're in...
As long as you're there and having a good time, that's what it's about.

DS has a pretty good field right now, STX is hit and miss.
I guy I work with came out for the first time last event in a TDi Jetta and is in DS-I think he's hooked Evil
Not many folks seem to run in ST classes here for whatever reason Huh?
I'm STU myself, and I'm usually alone.  Great for me in class, 'cause I'm slow...but having some good healthy competition wouldn't be a bad thing...

Welcom to LVRSCCA.
Come to our next general meting, if you can, and meet the crew.

Thanx everyone for the warm welcome.  Unfortunately I work 6-12 every night so I don't think I can make to the meeting, but I look forward to seeing everyone out in January.  I did want to ask if anybody knows a good BMW mechanic around town?  I have a few small things to attend to but are a little more invasive than I'm used too.  I checked the member directory, but I'm not sure I saw one.  Also, if someone knows a good alignment shop the info would be greatly appreciated.  Thanx again to everyone and I look forward to meeting you all.

Those were Z4s not M3s but none-the-less James is quite correct about BMWs showing up frequently. Great autox cars there.

Amen!  Grin

Two words: Dave Hironaka  Lips Sealed No, not really. The ST classes were HUGE when I first started. Things wax and wane over time.

He was GS and yes he's hooked. I think we can blame ... er ... Thank you for that James.  Wink

Nicholas, I HIGHLY reccomend you seek James out when you show for your first event. He is a great guy to help you get to know the ropes and put you on a good path.

Welcome and I'll see you in DS in January in my Mini.  Evil
