Round Eight at the Silverton Hotel/Casino was a success! (Photos) LVR would like to send out a special thank you to:

Bart Freevol: Event Chair
Sue Stoddard: Registrar (along with her team)
Dale Shoemaker: Safety Steward
Carl Fuller: Course Designer (The key to the course was line choice. If you were too tight on entry
for the u-turns, it made you too wide on exit)
Rick Kostelaz: Solo Chair
Chris Darquea: Site Acquisition
The Rowlands: Timing & Scoring (Event Results)

“Wow!” was everyone’s first comment with regards to the turnout to this Summer Series Event. There were 98 participants for the event. Of these 98 entries, 40 of them were weekend members (Want to become a Member? ). A local Ford Focus and Dodge SRT4 club made their presence known with lots of participants and lots of spectators. LVR really enjoyed all of the new faces, and we hope to see you all again on August 28th for Round 9.

D Stock: The largest class of the night with 11 entries. Jeanne Nelson co-drove Sam Vereschzagin’s Mini Cooper S. For Jeanne’s second event, she showed the boys in DS she can drive. Jeanne finished the night in fourth place with a solid 50.4 run.
F Stock: With the course design, F Stock was the “big” coupe class. Shane Wagner appeared to have his hands full during the night with his Camaro. Shane’s only clean run was enough to take the win.
G Stock: With the absence of the regular drivers, this class was filled with relatively new drivers. Guam Wang drove the only import in this class to victory.
D Street Prepared: The red color car group saw Mike Kech pilot his 85 Corolla to first place.
D Modified: Eric Waugh was hustling around course to beat his co-driver Sam Marano.
F125: These folks were flying. Husband/wife combo, Marc and Suzanne Segal took first and third. Paul Durr split the duo to take second. Marc took top time of the day and top pax with his 37.8!

Please keep in mind that solo events are a great opportunity for all to learn car control and safety. So, bring out friends and family members!

Our next Summer Series event will be Saturday, August 29, 2010 from 5pm to 11pm. Please Pre-Register and join us for an evening of fun, competition and good friends.

Round Seven at the Silverton Hotel/Casino was a success! Although there are too many people to thank individually for making this event successful, LVR would like to send out a special thank you to:

Jamin Loveless, Event Chair
Marvin Maize, Safety Steward
Dave Hironaka, Course Designer
Rick Kostelaz, Solo Chair
Chris Darquea, Site Acquisition

Sue Stoddard and her loyal team registered 87 participants. The club had 30 weekend members with about 20 joining the New Driver Team for a course walk. During the Drivers Meeting, LVR Regional Executive, Sam Vereschzagin presented dash plaques to the class winners from the June 12, 2010 event. Dash plaques will be handed to the class winners for each of the 4 Summer Series events.

A Stock: The battle of the Vettes. Both Rick Kostelaz and Bart Freevol ran clean runs, but Rick came out as the victor.
D Stock: The largest class of the night went to Sam Vereschzagin in his 03 Mini Cooper S. Sam is trying to close the gap between him and Rob Senft for the championship.
E Stock: John Gagnan was able to keep the lead over Jacob Gagnon for the class win.
F Stock: Nice driving by Thomas Canthen in his 06 Magnum SRT. He was able to pilot his Magnum around the tight course for the win.
C Street Prepared: Again, Papa Rick Rowland was able to beat out his son, Rick Rowland II by .072 of a second. This was the closest win of the night.
D Street Prepared: Dale Shoemaker brought out his new spec Miata race car. Dale suffered a split gas line, but after returning from a parts store and changing the hose, he was able to pull off the win.
Street Modified: The much anticipated new ride of Aaron Godwin was unveiled. Aaron was able to stay ahead of Thomas Smith for the win by .232 of a second in his 04 Evo!
Street Modified F: The great battle throughout the night was between Michele Abbate and Eladio Rodriquez. Michele was nice enough to let Eladio drive her car, only to have him beat her by .152 of a second.

Please keep in mind that solo events are a great opportunity for all to learn car control and safety. So, bring out friends and family members!

Our next Summer Series event will be Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 5pm to 11pm. Please Pre-Register and join us for an evening of fun, competition and good friends.

LVRSCCA proudly scheduled four events this summer at the Silverton Casino/Hotel. Our “Summer Series” began on June 12. Participants were treated to a challenging course set up by Dave Hironaka. For a small location, the design kept average times in the low 50 second range. A big concern that many participants had was, “how will the lighting be?” Excellent lighting is what we found.
Competition was exciting throughout the night. Tom Skaggs was knocking on the heels of Andy Goldberg in “A” stock. One tenth of a second separated them, with Goldberg on top at the end. And there is only one point between them for the year end championship.
In “B” stock, Sue Stoddard was having cone issues, but pulled off her best lap during her final run. Only to have Mike Skougard better his own time on his last run to take the lead and win.
“CSP” continues to be an exciting class to follow. Rick Rowland took the lead with his last run as well. The separation from first to third was six tenths of a second.
“Street Mod” saw some great competition between Thomas Smith and Brandon Chappell (Subi vs. Evo). Thomas’ second run was his fastest to beat out Chappell by .167.
If you would like to see this competition in person or be part of it, please join us this Saturday night (July 10) at the Silverton Casino. Registration opens at 5 pm, first car out at 7 pm. Prices are $30 for members, $45 for non-members. Registration at the event is always welcomed.
The remaining night series will be July 31 and August 28. Awards will be given to first place class winners!
